Saturdy Painting Palooza Vol.546

This week I will be continuing with the towered Victorian painting. I am using the photo seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on an 8x8 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

Starting at the top, I've added a lit area to the tip of the turret. The corresponding tip shadow just below is now highlighted in the same color. To the left, the entire left side of the house has been overpainted in a pale yellow. I just prefer the look of this color to the plain white. Changes to the trees and lawn are simple. I've added some lit areas to each. The half hidden building in the left side shrubbery appears in shadow. With these changes the painting is complete.

The current and final state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have a new painting to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.545

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the towered Victorian painting. I am using the photo seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on an 8x8 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

There are a number of changes for this week's installment. Most prominent amongst these are the window details. I've attempted to stay close to what is seen in the original photo. Some windows have more details than others. In any event, I believe that I've avoided adding too much detail. Also receiving attention are the spaces between the porch piers. These have been shaded a bit as has been the steps and porch area. Finally, the upper turret open area has received railings.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.544

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the towered Victorian painting. I am using the photo seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on an 8x8 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

I started this week's changes by darkening the left side windows. This will provide a background upon which I can add the details seen in the original photo. I've also darkened the shadow that intersects the 2nd story windows. I then repainted the porch roof as well as the railing. Finally, I've added the porch piers.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.543

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the towered Victorian painting. I am using the photo seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on an 8x8 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appears as it does in the photo directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

This week I'm going out on the edge. Literally. I wanted to show what can be done with a "gallery wrapped" canvas. Here I've carried the painting over the edge of the canvas. Sometimes this is difficult as major elements may be involved and/or color difficulties. If one hasn't planned ahead, reproducing a color used earlier may be difficult. Here neither of these issues arose. I simply carried over the lawn, trees and sky. The result will be a bit more depth when seen on the wall. For next week, more refinement of the front-facing surface.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.542

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the towered Victorian painting. I am using the photo seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on an 8x8 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appears as it does in the photo directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

I began this week's changes by adding another layer of green to the trees and lawn. For now I am maintaining the blue boundary lines. I have added more paint to the sky, now a paler shade of blue. Moving on to the structure itself, I've painted the windows in a dark blue. The right side siding and lower porch have also received some blue paint.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
