Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.594

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the Cold Spring, NY street scene. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 6x6 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

I've continued with the car, adding paint to the lower portion. Note the wheels and grille. The street recieved some attention as well. The tip of the car up front is now blue. Out back, the shadows and trees have been recipients of paint as well. Note the progress on the front of the porch. Finally, the fence has been repainted. That color will change down the road.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.593

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the Cold Spring, NY street scene. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 6x6 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

Progress was limited this week. I've added another layer of blue to the shadowed portions of the houses. Note the same blue on the shady side of the chimney. I've continued the same blue onto the partially completed porch. I've finally added some paint to the upper portion of the car. To the far rear, another layer of green covers the trees.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.592

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the Cold Spring, NY street scene. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 6x6 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

I continued adding to the initial paint layer, moving on to the other elements. The houses now have roofs and siding along with shadows on the shaded portions. The fence, lawn and street have been filled as well. I'm hoping to keep this simple and not get bogged down in too many details.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.591

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the Cold Spring, NY street scene. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 6x6 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

I started by painting the outlines of the major visual elements in blue. I just had to paint the shadow from the small dormer window on the roof. I've also added green to the far rear and some light blue for the sky.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.590

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be starting a new painting. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. It is a scene in Cold Spring, New York. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 6x6 inch canvas.

I began with a pencil grid on both the photo and canvas. In this manner I was able to make a sketch that would accurately transfer the elements of the photo to the canvas. It's a process that has worked well for me for a couple of years now. Next week, some paint.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
