Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.676

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be starting a new painting. I will be painting a shingled four square style house (early 20th century) seen on my recent trip to Chincoteague, Virginia. I love the adirondack chairs out front. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 6x6 inch canvas.

I started with a pencil grid on both a print of the photo and the canvas. In this way I was able to transfer the elements to the canvas in an accurate pencil sketch. I've overpainted the lines of my sketch.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.675

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the eastern shore of Virginia inn. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5x7 inch canvas.

When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

For this week's cycle I have completed the lawn, front walk and the two shrubs. For these I decided to cut back the shadows as they seemed a bit too distracting. The walk is now only partially obscured. To the far rear, the lower portions of the trees have been revised. The painting is now completed.

The current and final state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the eastern shore of Virginia inn. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5x7 inch canvas.

When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

I was away for a few days but did get to make some changes. Most of these are on the porch. The porch now appears in white as does the entryway. Note the blue details as seen in the original photo. Finally, the gray to the rear of the porch is overpainted with just the hint of a front door.
