Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.672

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the eastern shore of Virginia inn. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5x7 inch canvas.

When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

Starting at the top, I have added paint to the roof, both to lit and shadowed portions. The chimneys and windows have added color and details, as has the porch roof. Finally, the lawn, path and bushes have been overpainted. Those bush shadows are a bit much and will be cut back a bit before I'm done.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.671

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the eastern shore of Virginia inn. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5x7 inch canvas.

When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

I have started to paint the body of the house. The gray paint will be the shadowed areas of the facade. You'll have to look closely at the original photo to see these. The shadows create a checkerboard effect. It will make for an interesting painting. Paint has also been applied to the roof.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.670

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the eastern shore of Virginia inn. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5x7 inch canvas.

When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

For this week's cycle I have begun to delinate light and shadow. Note the blue shadowed areas of the main roof, porch roof and extreme right side gable. I've also begun what will be shadows on the two front facing gables. These have been delineated by the diagonal lines seen across each. This mirrors the shadowed areas of the original photo. I will slightly exaggerate the contrast. Also, the colors will change and all of the blue will be overpainted. Finally, I have added all that green to the surrounding yard and trees.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

I have followed the sketch shown in the previous installment and painted in the outline. I've also started the sky and shadow across the front path, all in the same blue. Next week, something other than blue paint.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.668

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be starting a new painting. I will be painting an inn in the eastern shore of Virginia. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5x7 inch canvas.

I started with a pencil grid on both a print of the photo and the canvas. In this way I was able to transfer the elements to the canvas in an accurate pencil sketch. Things are off to a good start. Next week some actual paint.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
