Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.559

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the Victorian mansion. I am using the photo seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on an 5x7 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

I have painted over the entire pencil sketch. Below, I've added some temporary green. I've continued the blue paint into the sky. All of this is preliminary with many changes to come.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.558

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be starting an entirely new painting. Well, not entirely. It may look somewhat familiar. You have seen this house before, at least the other side. I will now be painting the main facade. I am using the photo seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on an 5x7 inch canvas. I love small canvases.

I started wiht my usual grid drawn in pencil on a print of the photo. I then drew the same grid on the canvas. I then transferred the house to the canvas. The pencil sketch is seen below. Next week some paint.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.557

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the 1940 Plymouth. I am using the photo seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on an 8x10 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

This week's changes are few but notable. Out in front, the Plymouth has received its license plate. I've kept the letters/numbers simple and unfocused to avoid it becoming a distraction. Far to the rear, distant shrubs have been painted behind my black and gray Mazda. There is now a sense of the distance from the foreground to those shrubs. With these changes the painting is now complete.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have an entirely new painting to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.556

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the 1940 Plymouth. I am using the photo seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on an 8x10 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

I've concentrated my efforts on the Jeep to the left side. Every part of it has been repainted. The body now appears in a dark gray. Note that the very rear of the Jeep is seen somewhat obscured through the Plymouth's window. I've painted the windows darkened to the shady side. The windshield now has a banded appearance. I've added details to the front wheel. Finally, lit portions of the body were painted in a light blue color.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.555

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the 1940 Plymouth. I am using the photo seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on an 8x10 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

There are many changes for this week's cycle. I've actually repainted the entire shaded side of the car. There was a problem with color consistency, especially on the door. The result is both a more consistent color and a color that seems a natural outgrowth of the lit portion. Note the now correctly spaced grille bars as well. Note also the revised front wheel. I've also added another layer of paint to the Jeep and my old two tone Mazda Millenia to the rear. Finally, the shadows have been overpainted as well.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
