Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.659

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the Cape May, New Jersey mansion. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 8x10 inch canvas.

When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

There are a number of changes for this week's cycle. I've now revised the shadowed structure on the far right. It works better than the prior version. I have also overpainted the sky in a more vivid blue. It works nicely with the browns and tans of the house. And with these changes the painting is done.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have a new painting to show you next week. See you then.

Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here. (Currently under reconstruction.)

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.658

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the Cape May, New Jersey mansion. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 8x10 inch canvas.

When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

There are a number of changes for this week's cycle. On the left side I have straightened out the perspective of the street/curb. It was angle up a bit too much previously. Note that I have completed the street and shadowed the portion that coincides with the shadowed portion of the main structure. Continuing above the left side curb, I have painted in the 2nd empire-style Victorian behind the main structure. On the right side I have painted in a partial house with which I completely unhappy. It will change for next time. Finally, I have begun to repaint the sky.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.657

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the Cape May, New Jersey mansion. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 8x10 inch canvas.

When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

Lots and lots of changes for this week's cycle. Most sections of the house have been refined. I've taken a vaguely cubist view of things. Note that the details have been kept simple. The awnings now appear as sliced cubes set against the various planes of the roof and gables. Note the shadowed right side of the roof. Out in front the porch takes on the form of a large block with yet more awnings. I am very pleased with things so far.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.656

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the Cape May, New Jersey mansion. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 8x10 inch canvas.

When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

There are lots of changes for this week's cycle. I've actually attempted to cover most of the remaining white canvas on the structure. Note the windows on the third story and left side. The various awnings are now present. The upper porch has had the railings defined as well as its lower structure. Much more will be coming.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.655

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the Cape May, New Jersey mansion. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 8x10 inch canvas.

When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

I have continued to paint the various elements of the structure. Starting at the top, the chimney has received its first layer of paint. The roof gable has had its siding painted in brown. In fact all of the siding has received the same color. Finally, the inner shadowed portions of the front porch have been painted.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
