Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.706

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the eastern shore Virginia farmhouse. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5x7 inch canvas.

When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

I had some technical difficulties in the form of fugitive paint, especially in the shadowed porch interior. As such, that area has been overpainted and now appears just a bit darker. The siding, lawn and roof also received some attention.

The painting is now finished.

The current and final state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the eastern shore Virginia farmhouse. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5x7 inch canvas.

When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

I began this week's changes by painting the area under the branches of the tree to the extreme far right. Next, I overpainted the house siding and shadowed area beneath the porch roof. Finally, I've added a bit more green to the lawn.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the eastern shore Virginia farmhouse. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5x7 inch canvas.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

I have moved on to the siding which now appears in blue. Below the porch roof I have started to paint the shadowed are. Finally, the shed roof (far left rear) and lawn have been repainted.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the eastern shore Virginia farmhouse. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5x7 inch canvas.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

My progress was limited this week. I have concentrated my efforts on the background and sky. It's nice to see the building in context at this point. Next week I'll start painting the structure.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.701

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be starting a new painting. It is a Virginia farmhouse on the eastern shore. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5x7 inch canvas.

I started with a pencil grid on both a print of the photo and the canvas. In this way I was able to transfer the elements to the canvas and achieve a relatively accurate pencil sketch. After that I painted over the lines of the sketch.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.700 Blogiversary

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the Assateague refuge painting. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 6x6 inch canvas board.

When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

I have now completed the greenery in the foreground. I chose not to paint the various fine plant spikes as my larger brush was chosen to avoid fussy details. I am pleased with this one. It takes me away from my usual subject matter and the reflection gave me a new challenge.

This week I will be continuing with the Assateague refuge painting. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 6x6 inch canvas board.

I have now added highlights and details to the trees on the far side of the pond. Out in front I have begun the foreground foliage. I'll have this all wrapped up next week.

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the Assateague refuge painting. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 6x6 inch canvas board.

When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

I have refined the sky a bit. Below, the trees across the way now appear in a darker bluish green with the low growing plants a bit brighter. Below the shoreline I have started the reflection on the surface of the refined pond. Things are going well.

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be starting a new painting. I will be painting a scene from the eastern shore of Virginia. It is at the Assateague National Refuge, home of the famous wild horses. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 6x6 inch canvas board.

I started with a pencil grid on both a print of the photo and the canvas. In this way I was able to transfer the elements to the canvas in an accurate pencil sketch. I began by painting the large sections of sky, water and the narrow strip of land that lies between.

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be starting a new painting. I will be painting a shingled four square style house (early 20th century) seen on my recent trip to Chincoteague, Virginia. I love the adirondack chairs out front. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 6x6 inch canvas.

I started with a pencil grid on both a print of the photo and the canvas. In this way I was able to transfer the elements to the canvas in an accurate pencil sketch. I've overpainted the lines of my sketch.
