Saturdafy Painting Palooza Vol.663

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the Tudor-style Victorian in Goshen, NY. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below along with a photo that shows the house in less glaring light. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on an 8x10 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

For this week's cycle I have continued my work on the central structure. I've added some additional brown to the siding as well as some yellow to the gable end and dormer. Below, the hedge and surrounding area has some initial pale color. Finally, the roof has been overpainted in a pale gray.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here. (Currently under reconstruction.)

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.662

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the Tudor-style Victorian in Goshen, NY. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below along with a photo that shows the house in less glaring light. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on an 8x10 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

For this week's cycle I have continued to work exclusively on the house itself. Note the deep blue shadows. I've begun the lit brown areas of the house as well. These colors will change a bit before I'm done with the painting. You can begin to see the nice contrast these colors make.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.661

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the Tudor-style Victorian in Goshen, NY. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below along with a photo that shows the house in less glaring light. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on an 8x10 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

For this week's cycle I've done two things. First, I have completed an outline of the building painting over the pencil lines. Second, I have painted the first layer of the sky in a color that is a just a bit too dark. It will change later on.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.660

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will eb starting a new painting. It's a rare Tudor-style Victorian in Goshen, NY. Note the faux half-timbering in the front-facing gable and dormer. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below along with a photo that shows the house in less glaring light. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on an 8x10 inch canvas.

I started with a pencil grid on both a print of the photo and the canvas. In this way I was able to transfer the elements to the canvas in an accurate pencil sketch. I am pleased. Things are off to a good start.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
