Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.454

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with painting of the 1937 Rolls Royce. The photo that I will be using is seen directly below. I will be using my usual acrylics on an 9x12 gallery-wrapped canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time, I have continued to work on the painting.

I have continued to refine the car. The dark surfaces now mostly appear in black or dark blue. The dark blue portions of the body will change to a very deep gray before the highlights are added. The bumper, headlights and whitewalls will change to white with perhaps a slight bluish cast. The windows have received a thin wash of blue. The roadway has received another layer of paint and the car's shadow has as well. There is much to do.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have a new painting to show you next week. See you then.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time, I have continued to work on the painting.

I began this week's changes with an application of watery black paint to the Rolls. I attempted to stay within the lines set out earlier. The rear door received some ochre paint somewhat similar to the color in the painting. I've changed the headlights just a bit. Something tells me that this won't be the last time that they will be changed. Roadway and sky have also received some paint, a watery blue.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have a new painting to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.452

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be starting a new painting. The photo that I will be using is seen directly below. I will be using my usual acrylics on an 9x12 gallery-wrapped canvas.

This photo started out with more foliage to the left side but the width made it inappropriate for the 9x12 canvas. I cropped it to make it useful for this piece. It depicts a 1937 Rolls Royce with palm trees providing an appealing backdrop. I was immediately reminded of the Grey Poupon commercial shown some years ago.

I began with my pencil grid and sketch. Upon this framework, I placed the initial brushstrokes. I'm looking forward to further progress on this painting.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have a new painting to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.451

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the 1954 Hudson ruin. The photo that I will be using is seen directly below. I will be using my usual acrylics on an 8x10 gallery-wrapped canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time, I have continued to work on the painting.

I have continued to work on the far rear of the painting. The two green blobs on either side have been reshaped and resurfaced. They now appear as large shrubs or hills. (I haven't decided which one.) Further back are distant blue hills. I've made the lowest point of those hills point down to the broken car door. It just seemed a natural place to have it. Finally, the sky has been repainted as well. It remains a simple blue.

The current and final state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have a new painting to show you next week. See you then.
