Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.411

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the Porsche 928. The photo that I am using is seen directly below. I will be using my usual acrylics on an 11x14 gallery-wrapped canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.

Since that time, I have continued working on the painting.

Essentially, I have gone over the entire painting. The car now appears more solid with its edges and contours defined by black lines. These shall disappear with further applications of paint. I hope to have the highlights and shadows define the contours as things progress. Moving below, the pavement and shadow have both received another layer of paint. To the rear, I have painted in the main elements comprising the building and the far horizon, such as it is. I'm not completely happy with the leading edge of the car. Both that and the car's surface/reflections will be the subjects for next week.

The current state of the painting is seen directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.410

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the Porsche 928. The photo that I am using is seen directly below. I will be using my usual acrylics on an 11x14 gallery-wrapped canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.

Since that time, I have continued working on the painting.

I've continued to refine the Porsche. I've attempted to reshape the lower front end. It still needs more work but it is far closer to the photo. I've added the outlines of the ancillary lights. Note the darkened area that will become the lower dark plastic section of the car. I've also added more paint to the long shadow below. Above, I've continued reshaping the headlights and cutlines of the hood. Further back, the windshield ahs been darkened in prepartion of the reflections to come. Finally, I've added some thin paint to the pavement. I like this warm color and will attempt to keep something similar to the final piece.

The current state of the painting is seen directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.409

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the Porsche 928. The photo that I am using is seen directly below. I will be using my usual acrylics on an 11x14 gallery-wrapped canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.

Since that time, I have continued working on the painting..

Not getting nearly as much done as I would have liked, there are some changes to show. Below the car, I've added the first layer of paint of what will become the car's shadow. On the car itself, I've begun to place some of the details. Note that the front end is no longer showing the white of the canvas. That left side headlight will need some serious size reduction. Note the open driver's door. Finally, I've added a wash of paint to the pavement and sky. There is lots of work to do.

The current state of the painting is seen directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.308

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be starting a new painting. It is a photo of a vintage Porsche 928 with some nice reflections. The photo that I will be using is seen directly below. I will be using my usual acrylics on an 11x14 gallery-wrapped canvas.

I decided to use a grid as it has worked well in the 2 prior paintings. The grid is comprised of a few simple pencil lines. It helps in placing the various elements. Once completed, I began by placing the central element, the 928. It is a simple outline for now.

The current state of the painting is seen directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
