Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.415

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the Porsche 928. The photo that I am using is seen directly below. I will be using my usual acrylics on an 11x14 gallery-wrapped canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.

Since that time, I have continued working on the painting.

I have addressed many different elements for this week's installment. I've repainted the shadows below the Porsche and along the building. There is still some blue in the color but it does not come through in the photo. As to the open car door, it now has glass, highlights and a mirror. The building now has a reflection that shows the driver's side of the car on the newly painted glass doors. There is also graphics on those doors. Finally, I've painted a small cloud to the far rear. I now consider this painting complete.

The current and final state of the painting is seen directly below.

I'll have a new painting to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.414

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the Porsche 928. The photo that I am using is seen directly below. I will be using my usual acrylics on an 11x14 gallery-wrapped canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.

Since that time, I have continued working on the painting.

I spent my time this past week concentrating on smaller details, so you will have to look closely. I've concentrated my efforts on the passenger side front of the car. Note that the front wheel has been painted and is now complete. The gray of the sidewall provides contrast to the black of the tread. Ahead of that is the gray airdam, a critical part of managing aerodynamics, especially on high performance vehicles such as this. It winds around the front of the car with openings for cooling the front brakes. Out front, the driving lights have been repainted. Note the highlights that spread around the front lower corner of the car. With these changes, I am done with the car except for the open door.

The current state of the painting is seen directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Finally, I can show you the reflections, such as they are. Since last time they have gone through 2 further evolutions only to go back to a simpler, earlier look. (I attempted the reflections 4 times, I believe.) I'm now reasonably happy with them although they do not quite appear as they do in the photo. I've also finished the headlights. They have their own reflections on the chrome and painted parts. Note that the body reflections continue up onto the windshield. There is still much to do but I have turned the corner on this one.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Hello again painting fans.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.

Well, I had hoped to start the reflections. After going over much of the painting (storefront, shadows and pavement) I did some further refinements to the Porsche. I then started the reflections, but in a casual way. I was not happy and painted over my efforts. I will go back and try again, staying close to what is seen in the photo. Meanwhile, those other elements have been updated and the car appears less like a comic book drawing.

The current state of the painting is seen directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
