Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.607

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the Cold Spring, NY scene. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5x7 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

Changes for this week are all on the house itself. Of note is the porch. I've elected to uncover the farthest portion, covered by the trees in the photo. The roof now extends its full length. I've also reshaped and added shadows to the details on each porch post. These now convey a clear Victorian character. Above, I've refined the overhangs. Finally, I've evened out the siding color but this will likely change again before I'm done.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.606

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the Cold Spring, NY scene. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5x7 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

There are several changes for this week's cycle. First, there is the wall. I've attempted to paint those stones. They are not bad but might need a little tweaking. The bush above the wall has been reshaded but still needs some work. The wheel of the left side car has also received some shading. Finally, I've begun to add the proper amount of shadow to the gable ends of the building. These shadows will need much more adjustment.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.605

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the Cold Spring, NY scene. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5x7 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

Starting on the structure, I've refined the windows, porch and gable ends. I continued with the bushes out in front. The wall has received some attention. It is only a start and will need much further work. Out in the street both cars are now nearly complete. Note the wheel section on the left side car.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.604

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the Cold Spring, NY scene. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5x7 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

Starting to the far rear, I've added more green to the large trees. This continues to the shrubs out in front. Up on the two gables, I have added lit elements and shadows. This carries down to the porch. The dark shadow now continues onto the side facing gable. At the curb, the left side car has been refined a bit as well as the curb itself.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.603

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the Cold Spring, NY scene. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5x7 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

For this week's cycle I've attempted to get some prliminary shadows on the canvas. Note the dark blue on both gable ends as well as the left side of the porch roof. A shadow now appears under the rear of the right side car and the round bush out in front. Additional paint has been added elsewhere, most notably to the left side car and the wall at sidewalk level.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.
