Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.654

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the Cape May, New Jersey mansion. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 8x10 inch canvas.

When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

For this week's cycle I have spent time painting the various planes of the roof. Note the lit and shadowed portions. I've also started the siding on the left side. Finally, I've added lines for the curb/sidewalk and the blurry structures on either side.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here. (Currently under reconstruction.)

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.653

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the Cape May, New Jersey mansion. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 8x10 inch canvas.

When last seen the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

For this week's cycle I have concentrated my efforts on setting all the lines on the house in paint. I intend to paint this rather loosely despite what may now seem highly detailed. I'm going to confine myself to a larger brush to insure that things don't get too fussy. I have also painted in the first layer of blue paint for the sky.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.652

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be starting a new painting. It is a scene in Cape May, New Jersey. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 8x10 inch canvas.

I started with a pencil grid on both a print of the photo and the canvas. In this way I was able to transfer the elements to the canvas in an accurate pencil sketch. I am pleased with it so far. Things are off to a good start.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have more progress to show you next week. See you then.

Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.651

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the Cape May, New Jersey street scene. The photo that I'm using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 5x7 inch canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

For this week I've continued to paint the thick plant growth out in front of the houses. It is now complete, with some green in front of the fence and the partial house to the right. I have also added a shadow line directly above the second story side window of the yellow house. Finally, I have adjusted the shadows on the fencing just a bit.

The current and final state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

I'll have a new painting to show you next week. See you then.
