Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.432

Hello again painting fans.

This week I will be continuing with the painting of the Grand Canyon. The photo that I will be using is seen directly below. I will be using my usual acrylics on a 12x12 gallery-wrapped canvas.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time, I have continued to work on the painting.

For this week's installment, I've concentrated my efforts on the buttes to the far rear. I've now painted the lit areas in a yellow/orange shade. The shadows have been painted in a paler blue better in keeping with the distance. I've also repainted the blue of the far distance behind. I will likely tone down the the yellow/orange. It just seems a bit too bright. Hopefully this successfully simulates aerial perspective.
