Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.428
This week I will starting an entirely new painting, once again, of the Grand Canyon. The photo that I will be using is seen directly below. I will be using my usual acrylics on a large (for me) 12x12 gallery-wrapped canvas.
I took this shot on our hike down into the Grand Canyon this past summer. I took a number of shots of this particular view but this was the best of them. Seeing this scene again brings back that memory of those long 2 months ago. :-)
I began with a grid and then placed the various elements. I've attempted to place the major shadows to make things easier later on. Then I added a little paint. The sky has received its initial layer of paint as well as part of the outline below.
