Saturday Painting Palooza Vol.346
This week I'll be continuing with the Sedona, Arizona roadway scene. The photo that I am using is seen directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on an 10x10 inch canvas.
When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.
Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.
There are many changes this week. I've done work on the median in the roadway. It has now been reshaped and some of the curbing is in place. Alongside, the roadway has received some color and the dotted lines dividing the lanes are in place. Inhabiting the roadway, the cars are now complete. To the far right, the fencing along the roadway has been finished. It has shadows not well depicted in the photo. To the rear, the arched building in the distance is complete. I've begun the middle distance buildings and cross streets. The Burger King now has its logo. Whew.

The larger version at the end really shows off the details on the butte.
One critique… the road's really curvy; it makes the cars farthest away look like they're skidding all over the place. This might be a good moment for a little artistic license. ;-)
Thanks Larry! That area where the car in the distance is headed off to the right is actually a traffic circle, the first of two in that area. It may look strange but I'm going to leave it for purposes of accuracy. This scene has been viewed by too many to change it. Besides, it looks like the driver has things under control. ;-)
