Saturday Painting Palooza Volume 290

Hello again painting fans.

This week I'll be continuing with the painting of the Pink House in Cape May, New Jersey. I will be using the photo seen directly below. I'm working on an 8x10 canvas in my usual acrylic paints.

When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo seen directly below.

Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.

Unfortunately, I did not get as much done as I would have liked. I did manage to paint in the base coat of the sky. This change provides a nice delineation for my color blind eyes and pushes the house forward visually. The final color will be a much lighter blue. Note that the blue continues under the porch roof the left side. I then painted the base coat of the body color of the house itself. The columns received a little white paint. There is much left to do in the coming installments.

The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.

That's about it for now. Next week I'll have more progress to show you. See you then. As always, feel free to add photos of your own work in the comments section below.

Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here.

You're right, the sky does make the house stand out. Looking forward to seeing how this develops…

Thanks, Far. This one is going to be done in pretty strict layers. You'll see what I mean next week.
