Saturday Painting Palooza Volume 329
This week I'll be with the painting of the Physick Estate in Cape May, New Jersey. It is seen in the photo directly below. I'll be using my usual acrylic paints on a 12x12 inch canvas.
When last seen, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.
Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.
I used this installment to add to the roof and correct some small areas. The roof has now received another layer of paint along with some highlights to help define the various gables. I'll probably add to the highlighted areas before this is done. Below the roof I've changed angles and attempted to get things properly in line. The hanging roof in the center now demonstrates appropriate perspective. I've attempted to get the porch posts in order but they still need further attention. Finally, the paths seen in the photo now divide the grassy area.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
That's about it for now. Next week I'll have more progress to show you. See you then. As always, feel free to add photos of your own work in the comments section below.
Earlier paintings in this series can be seen here.

Oh, good. I'd meant to comment about the porch posts, they (and other elements) sort of gave the impression the house is leaning against itself.
But this is the moment… where the painting is really starting to emerge and take on a 3D shape.
Hey, don't forget to post a link to Twitter. I'll RT it and help spread it around a little. I can show you how to use a site called IFTTT to make it automatic.
Yeah, I've got to fix those posts. Thanks for noticing them, Far.
I think that the path helps with the 3d effect. It pushes the house back a bit.
I'll see about that twitter link. Thanks for your help!
